MEETING OF KANSAS-NEBRASKA BIG BLUE RIVER COMPACT ADMINISTRATION

The Nebraska Department of Natural Resources and the Kansas Department of Agriculture will meet to discuss the previous years as well as ongoing activities in the Big Blue River Basin. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Central Time at the Kansas Department of Agriculture in Manhattan, KS. The meeting is open to the public and may be attended in person. A draft agenda for the meeting is posted on the Department’s website, http://dnr.nebraska.gov .
The Blue River Basin Compact (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 1-115) was entered into to promote interstate comity between the States of Nebraska and Kansas; to achieve an equitable apportionment of the waters of the Big Blue River Basin between the two States and to promote orderly development thereof; and to encourage continuation of the active pollution-abatement programs in each of the two States and to seek further reduction in both natural and man-made pollution of the waters of the Big Blue River Basin.
