CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commission Chair, Wayne Davis in the Conference Room of the Lower Platte South NRD in Lincoln, Nebraska, at approximately 1:45 p.m.
NOTICE OF THE MEETING
Notice of the meeting was placed in the LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR on April 28, 1999, notifying the public of the meeting.
RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT FUND PRIORITY PROCESS
Commission Chair, Wayne Davis, called on Tom Pesek who reviewed the purpose of the meeting and explained that six project sponsors would be briefing the Commission on the status of their projects. Pesek then reviewed various items of information that had been provided to Commission members by the staff and by each of the project sponsors.
Tom Pesek explained that the Resources Development Fund Priority process had been changed from previous years and that the Attorney General and the Governor had approved the rules and regulations
establishing those new procedures.
Representatives of sponsors of each of the six projects requesting funds for the coming year provided brief presentations on the status of each of their projects and responded to Commission members’ questions about their projects as follows:
Weeping Water Creek Watershed Project, Lower Platte South NRD - Glenn Johnson
Wakefield Levee, City of Wakefield - Nick Johnson
Lower Wood River/Upper Warm Slough, Central Platte NRD - Milton Moravek
Upper Little Nemaha, Nemaha NRD - Paul Rohrbaugh
Skull Creek Site 55, Lower Platte North NRD - Tom Mountford and Kathy Vasa
Gering Canal Phase III, City of Gering - Ron Moore
It was noted that obligation of funds could not be done at this time because the appropriation for the next fiscal year had not yet been finalized by the Legislature and that obligations would be done at the June Commission meeting.
