Background
On the heels of a federal disaster for spring severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding declared in June, this disaster was declared in late July.
It was for severe storms and flooding which took place from May 28 to June 2, 2007. In some sections of the disaster area, 8 inches of rain fell.

Additional Information
Recorded rainfall amounts: Wellfleet (7.40"), Curtis (6.39"), Broken Bow (5.79"), Taylor (5.3"), Minden (4.1").
Maxwell - roads covered with up to 2 feet of water, water getting into 10-12 homes, sewer system backed up.
Lincoln County - southern Lincoln County county roads damaged by flood waters, washouts reported as deep as six feet.
Hayes County - ALL county roads are closed, mules required to bring emergency supplies to 10-12 families.
Battle Creek - At its worst, water was 2-3 feet deep in town, wastewater treatment plant flooded.
Chase County - Highway 6 closed by more than 2 feet of water over the road. Some county roads are washed out.
Culbertson - Frenchman Creek flooding.

President Bush declared this a federal disaster area for 15 counties on July 24, 2007.
The federal declaration is for Public Assistance and for Mitigation.

Buffalo, Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Greeley, Hayes, Hitchcock, Howard, Kearney, Lincoln, Logan, Loup, Madison, Valley, and Wheeler
